Not a suggestion. The number you just set.
01What this number does not know
- Commissions. They come off the same budget.
- A stop is a price, not a promise. A 0DTE option can gap straight through it, and the loss can be larger than the budget.
- An option's stop distance is premium times the multiplier: forty cents on a hundred-multiplier contract is $40 a contract.
- Whether the trade is any good. This is arithmetic about a bad day, and says nothing about a win rate.
02Holding yourself to it
The arithmetic was never the hard part. It is 11:40, you are down two, and the number you set this morning is all that stands between a bad day and a bad month. What Interactive Brokers can and cannot do about that.
Degen Pro enforces the number this page produced: the stop cannot be widened, and the broker and the charts close when the budget is spent, until the next morning. That is the paid part.
